I am looking for inexpensive software to convert and personalize embroidery designs…suggestions?

November 5th, 2012 Leave a comment Go to comments

I have a Janome MC 9500 and need to convert designs to .jef format as well as be able to marry designs with lettering – shape of lettering andplacement of designs. I’d love digitizing capability as well but I know that comes with a hefty price.
I have been online and downloaded trial software but I really would like to purchase someting worthwhile. Thank you for your suggestions….

Try Wilcom Truesizer. It’s free – I know there is a link on http://www.dekatzenembroidery.co.za

Hello, I have been using the embird software and I absolutely love it. I have never had a problem at all. I infact purchased a new computer and had lost the program ,so they will email you the downloads forever if you miss place or can’t find the software if you change computers.

I have used the Janome customizer and digitizer for over ten years. It is amazing when it works. I of course ALWAYS sew out a test pattern, you never know what it will be like till it is sewn out! Unfortunately the program can be very undependable and crash often. Unless you have a good computer repairman….I wouldn’t even bother with this. I can’t remember the times I have tried to call and get support? If you find a good program that is reasonable and works well, please let me know. Thanks, JOY

Please try Embird it converts to a LOT of different formats, it is not very expensive and it has a few plugins that are very nice also. One will show you thumbnails of the designs on your computer so that you don’t have to open each one too. You can download their free trial at http://www.embird.com I have no affilation with them I just love their product.

I would reccomend the Embird software. You can start of with the basic program and as you get a bit more financial you can purchase Plugins at a reasonable price. I have the Embird 2004 but I believe there is a new version 2006 . Embird coverts all files and re sizes. You name it it does it. I hope this has been some help to you.
