Does anyone have any gift ideas made out of recycled materiels?

I’m short on funds this year and want to make Christmas presents out of stuff I already have. I’m getting tired of making purses and memo boards. I have lots of scrap material and embroidery supplies. I’m good at embroidery, sewing, and cross stitch but am looking at other ideas as well. Please don’t post anything expensive. I am on a very fixed budget! thanks in advance for your help

There are many ideas that you can do as well as a few books that cater to making recycle items. I have a few so if you send me an email with some ideas you are looking for I can check them out I have couple of books that everything cost about 10.00 or less to make. These books normal can be found in most crafts stores. Or you can check out what books your local library have. They will mostly likely have a craft type section.

Sun Catchers……Broken mirror, fishing line, and glass or plastic beads, crazy glue and an eye hook or other form of clasping device to hang it. Lay out a string of line about 2 feet long ( Longer or shorter is okay also.)then arrange a pattern alternating mirror pieces with beads. Start by gluing two pieces of mirror back to back (fishing line should be between the mirror), then string on a few colored beads, then glue more mirror, beads etc. When you are finished you will have a beautiful sun catcher to hang outside. There will be very little cost , if any, and you will have created a recycled light show

Embroidered, personalized, monogrammed and embellished book cover.
Like a standard Bible cover or sneak out a family members’ favorite book or scrapbook, or photo album and make a beautiful cover you can embroider.

Take or make a glove, stuff it and sew it shut, then embroider it with a lovely faux bracelet and a ring to match, give it as a way to display rings and jewelry.

A framed embroidered Monogram of the family name or the family crest or a family tree like the samplers the colonists made with the names of the aunt, uncle and cousins you give it to.
Go to http://www.alyceschroth.com to see how they look and customize your sampler gift to show what the family does for a living or for fun.

For kid’s gifts, make a stuffed animal with lots of embroidered attention to a favorite character or movie, it could just be a little pillow with Sweet Dreams embroidered on it.
