I am buying an embroidery machine, will you share your experience and help me out?

December 3rd, 2012 4 comments

What I want to use it for is monogramming and small pictures. I am sure that once I get more experience I would like certain options, but all the information on the websites is a bit baffling. Can you tell me from your experience which machine(s) I should be looking at? Thanks for your time!!

I have a Viking embroidery machine and LOVE it.
I have downloaded many designs for free on the internet that have sewn out beautifully.

Buy your machine at a good sewing machine store. They will have free classes on how to use your machine. Take as many classes on embroidery as you can. There are so many tips and tricks to learn that make it easier to embroider. You need to know what type of thread to use in both upper and in the bobbin, hooping, stabilizers, needles. I took classes at the store and at sewing conventions. If you can get to a convention take as many machine embroidery classes as you can afford.

Take time to just practice.. There is a learning curve with it. It will take some time before you are comfortable with it.

Recommend a sewing machine with alphabet?

Hi, can anyone recommend a sewing machine including nice patterns, embroydery and alphabet? I am a complete beghinner qnd am willing to pay between 100 and 350 usd. must be easy to use.
Thanks a lot!!
Thanks a lot, but what about the Brother SE270D Computerized Sewing and Embroidery Machine, 350USD?

You really need to buy an embroidery machine from a dealer (sewing store) You will need lessons on the machine itself and for doing embroidery. This is not something to figure out yourself.
I know of two people who took back the Brother’s Disney embroidery machine to WalMart because they were so flustered with it.
Some dealers have older machine that were brought in when the owners traded up in models. Sewing stores are going to give you free lessons on your machine.
Once you have an embroidery machine you can buy 100’s of different fonts for it. Also there are many free designs on line. You just have to see if it is offered in your sewing machines "language" I have a Viking Huskavarna embroidery machine, I need designs in HUS.

Where can I find embroidery designs for a Viking Rose embroidery Machine?

November 11th, 2012 2 comments

I only have a 4-inch embroidery field, thanks!
does anyone know? C’mon!!

The Rose uses the HUS format *NOT* PES format but if you have editing software then you can convert from other formats such as PES. You will need to have hardware to save your designs to Viking cards (usually known as #1+ & Rose Viking Embroidery Card). You can find many sites that offer free designs such as Secrets of Embroidery, Viking site, Brother site, etc. If you don’t have the Viking card reader/writer, then you need another Reader/Writer so that you can write your designs to a Viking Card or a Magic Card that is designed for Viking Rose machines.

You can also use VIP formats as well as the HUS format but you still need to convert those designs to your embroidery card. Editing Software to check out is Embird.com and Buzz Tools as well as the Viking software.

There are many designs that fit in a 4×4 inch field available. In addition to downloading designs and outputting to the Rose Card, you can buy cards that the Rose Machine accepts. These you get at your Viking dealer, or from OESD and Amazing Designs. The cards are very expensive, about $100-$150 each. So, your best bet is to have Reader/Writer Hardware that saves designs to a Viking Rose #1+ Card. The Boxes that are available are Viking Card Reader/Writer Box, PES2 Reader/Writer, Amazing Designs or Magic Box Reader/Writer to name a few. Today’s boxes use USB ports. If you buy Embroidery Software, some higher end brands such as Viking require a Security device called a USB Dongle to run the software. if you lose the dongle, you lose your investment in the software. NO Dongle=Embroidery Program won’t run and the Manuafacturer won’t help you. So, never lose the dongle and if you buy used software, if there is no dongle, then you’ve lost your money. Embroidery software often costs over $1000. The Reader/Writer boxes cost about $300. Try Allbrands.com for Amazing Box.

I need help with my Viking 4D Embroidery software?

December 28th, 2011 2 comments

I have a Viking Scandinavia 400 Embroidery machine with the 4D Reader/Writer Kit that was working find until I downloaded the Stitch Era Universal software for free. The stitch era works Find but it stopped the 4D organizer which make the reader/writer send the design to the card that allow me to use my embroidery Machine. I get the error message "This application has failed to start because Tool Kit Pro 1122vc90U.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem" But it don’t. Now I can not remove the SEU, I have tried to reinstall the 4D program back on my computer BUT, it dose not work and the uninstall for the stitch Era is not on my Computer. I’ve tried the Restore System to return it to before I installed the SEU but this did not work. I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to All who gave me help. I had already tried regcure to clean up the error, what a waste of my $20.00 bucks. It found error but it did not repair the problem that it said it would. will try your suggestions and we will see what happens.

There are users running both programs successfully, although I don’t know why it’s not working in your case. If you need to remove Stitch Era, first do a regular uninstall from the Windows Control Panel, then reboot, then run the Clean utility:

Thanks to All who gave me help. I had already tried "Regcure" to clean up the error. What a waste of my $20.00 bucks. It found some errors, so it said but, it did not repair the problem that they said it would. I will try the suggestions given and we will see what happens.

Open the Windows control panel and then go to programs. Look for Stitch Era and remove it.

I tried this software and did not like it one bit.

After you have removed SE, temporarily disable the PC’s firewall and reinstall your 4D program.

Is there anyplace to download free viking sewing machine embroidery patterns or patterns with a vsp format?

If not is there a way to convert other formats to vsp format?

Husquvarna web site has a monthly free design as well as archives. I have the 4D program and it converts everything. Some of the web sites offer free downloads to convert patterns. You can buy the 3D program much cheaper on Ebay than it was now that 4D has come out.
Good Luck
