I have a Janome 6600P can someone please help as to how I download the designs.
Thank you.,
Sorry everyone I should have said that I have a Janome 350E embroidery machine as well as 6600P.
I shall just put it down as a "Senior Moment"
Thanks
Marie

I cannot find any information on the 6600P being an embroidery machine.

A computer’s operating system does not recognize embroidery machine formats.

You can save the download to a folder, but cannot open it without machine embroidery software.

If you want to see the design, you can download this free software http://www.pulsemicro.com/ambassadordownload

It is not what you need, but at least you can view the design.

Embroidery machines use (1) a direct cable hook-up to the computer, that comes with the machine, or (2) a flash drive, or (3) a memory card, or (4) a cd.

Which of the above methods does your machine use?

Only # 3 requires additional software – a machine embroidery reader/writer unit and card compatible with your machine.

    Hi
I have the Janome 6600p, it is a computerized sewing only machine and does not do any embroidery. Thats why your having problems!
You need an embroidery only or embroidery/sewing combined machine to be able to download designs and then you need the card reader/writer and compact flash card to store the designs. The Janome 350e is a very good one.

Only embroidery software that can read that format will show an icon for JEF files other than the standard Windows icon you’re receiving.

And if it does show an icon for it, it also means you’ll be able to double-click on it and that software will automatically launch with that design already loaded on the screen.

To veiw embroidery files such as .jef, you need a catalog program such as this one – http://www.annthegran.com/Product.aspx?t=1&i=2567

Hello I own a Janome machine and I own a group just for Janome owners here which you are welcome to join:
    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/JEFLOVERS/

There are over 1800 carefully screened members on this group, more than a few are Janome teachers, dealers and other types of Janome experts. If you want to join you must put something in the comment section that lets me know you are a embroidery person – or fill our the questionnaire and sent it to me.

Feel free to let other Janome owners know.
